Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Shelfli ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. About Shelfli

Shelfli is a mobile application that helps you track grocery expiry dates, organize kitchen inventories, and coordinate with household members. The App is developed and maintained by an independent developer based in Italy.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use Shelfli. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the App.

4. Your Account

To use Shelfli, you need to create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Shelfli only for its intended purpose — tracking food and household products. You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the data you enter into Shelfli (product names, expiry dates, notes, kitchen names, etc.). We do not claim any ownership rights over your content. You grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service to you.

7. Shelfli Plus (Paid Subscription)

Shelfli offers an optional paid subscription ("Shelfli Plus") that unlocks additional features such as extra kitchens and household sharing. Subscriptions are managed entirely through Google Play. Billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund policies are governed by Google Play's terms. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play.

8. Third-Party Services

Shelfli relies on third-party services to function, including Firebase (by Google) for authentication and data storage, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Open Food Facts for product information. Your use of the App is also subject to the terms of these third-party providers. We are not responsible for third-party service interruptions or changes.

9. Service Availability

Shelfli is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do our best to keep the App running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may need to take the App offline for maintenance, updates, or other reasons, and we may modify or discontinue features at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Shelfli shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App. This includes, but is not limited to, losses related to food spoilage or waste. Shelfli is a convenience tool and should not be your sole method for determining whether food is safe to consume.

11. Account Deletion

You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the App's settings or through our account deletion page. Once confirmed, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you have an active Shelfli Plus subscription, please cancel it through Google Play before requesting deletion.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of Shelfli after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy and the European Union. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply in your country of residence.
